So Men in Wild club you say? *puts hand on chin*

Watz crakin my peeps? Slang aside, Recently I was in a group conversation at my dormitory and we were telling other friends that new friends wanted to join Wild. One of the comments that I heard was "Me in Wild? No way its Wild WOMENS inspiring leadership at Devry, Not Mild." (replacing the men for women in wild). I held myself back for going on a rant to this guys and just said well there are those who are males supporters and I left it at that. I can't say that the next person who says that will not feel the extent of my wrath of ranting will be as lucky as this guy was but I wont be so harsh. Men can support Women even in their clubs even though the name may be designed for a specific gender. Just because I'm a Mexican doesn't mean I won't join an Asian club, or a Caucasians club. I would if they had the right things that I support as well.
See this guys is a Feminist and looks pretty BA with dat pipe.

Well, Hello There

Hello Everyone!
My name is Wendy Sanchez and I am the President of the famous WILD Club! Everyone pretty much said all the important stuff that had to be said but ill just say a few things. In 2009, my boss here at DeVry Universtiy talked to me about the WILD Club, and encouraged me to take it over, i honestly had no idea, since this club had been inactive for the longest time, and i had never been part of it, i honestly had no idea what WILD was. I got explained a little bit about it, and i looked on the folders and saw some of their past events, so i decided to go ahead and take over the club. I had nobody in the beginning only Lala (Laura Loarca) our Vice-President now, and i encouraged Olga Rosiles to be the Vice-President and Lala to be Secretary, so there we were new to this but together we worked to start it up, clueless but there we were. We slowly started being in every event on campus, volunteering, making events, fundraiser, charity events, etc. We slowly climbed ourselves up, Olga graduated but there where plenty of people interested so since then we have been slowly taking over DeVry and showing leadership to our peers. Now our group is pretty big which i am happy about. What people also have to see is that WILD is not only club, but to many of us a family :)

Hey Ya'll!!!!!! The name's, Krystal Macaraeg.

Yeah... my last name is kind of hard to pronounce. The way to pronounce it is, mah-cah-rah-egg. But to me it kinda sounds like macaroni and egg. Yumm... My favorite!<3 Darn... Made myself hungry... Most of the people also pronounce my name as chris-tle. The proper way is chris-tall. But it's alright I don't mind either way.

I'm still sorta new with WILD Club. I became a recent member since July, which was the month I had started school at DeVry University. This club made me feel at home, because when I started this school, I didn't know anyone to talk to but my team members in my critical thinking class. WILD is an acronym for Women Inspiring Leadership at DeVry University. It's pretty cool club so far. They make sure club meetings fit everyone's schedule. Which I'm pretty happy about. lol I'm looking forward for the future plans that WILD Club is making.

Just a passing thought.

I think that every woman should be more comfortable about themselves and when I say "comfortable," I mean being able to just eat what ever they want, dress and look the way they want without wanting to change, and being able to fart and burp and not die of embarrassment. I will admit that I am at fault for not being completely comfortable, but it does not mean that I do not try to be. I try to be myself and be comforted by the fact that I am surrounded by people who accept me in what ever circumstance. Just a passing thought.

Yours truly,

WILD Lady of History: Georgiana Cavendish, Duchess of Devonshire

Hello Lovely Bloggers!

Just so everyone knows, I love history. I just love it. I love knowing how things came to be and how past events and people help shaped what we do, think, and live life. I know that some people say that "the past doesn't define who you are, it is what we do from here on that makes us who we are." Well, I can honestly say that I disagree and agree with that adage. Let me explain. I agree that what ever happens in the past does not establish the person that one would become. No. Never. However, I disagree with the fact that the past does not impact us in anyway. On the contrary, I believe that the past impacts us in the sense of the choices we make. We either learn or repeat the mistakes of the past, continue or destroy legacies, or act on self-gratifications or impassiveness (which is a contradiction because you can't act impassiveness). Throughout the years, I have immersed myself in timeless tales of sieges, debates, revolutions, depressions, etc. However, what makes the history so fascinating are the people involved, particularly the ones considered the "underdogs" of the time: women.

One of those women that I think are most fascinating is Georgiana Cavendish, Duchess of Devonshire (7 June 1757 – 30 March 1806). Her grace was born in a time when woman suffrage was a hundred years later, but despite that she did what most women were denied and she did in in style. No. I'm serious. See, Georgiana was similar to that of Paris Hilton and The Kardashians. She was a socialite. She loved to gamble and be surrounded by the "popular crowd" who loved her. Oh and it helped that she was a fashionable beauty. I suppose her life was just like another famous woman of history: Marie Antoinette, the, then, Queen of France. What made her so extraordinary was the fact that she was an active campaigner, which was not a lot of women in the late 1700s were denied to do. Also, her life was filled with so much juicy scandal and that even a 17th century Perez Hilton would love to write about it. One juicy scandal being a ménage à trois with her best friend and husband for 25 years. It was even as risqué as Bill Clinton "I Did Not Have Sexual Relations" scandal. Not defaming Bill Clinton or anything, I think he was a great president, but that whole issue was....Anyway. Let's just say that this is an example of us not only ignoring lessons from history but adding on to it. Despite all that. Georgiana Cavendish lead an interesting life, which is depicted in the movie, The Duchess, with Keira Knightly. I thought it was interesting. Great portrayal, costumes, and photography.

Well, that's all for now. Ciao bellas!

Hey bloggers, this is the V.P. talking

Welcome to the W.I.L.D Club Blog. Im Laura Loarca the vice president of the club. I been in the club for one year and its been so much fun. We do charities, funraisers, social events and many more. All the members are fun to hangout and we always have a blast. The club is a networking opportunity for women to get into the business world of today. This year, men started to join and support the W.I.L.D club. So its been fun having both women and men working together to make this club better.

As WILD as it gets: Picture Day is the Day!

So, today is when we take our pictures for our club's case. You probably don't know what I'm talking about. Well, let me me specify and clarify: here in DeVry University Fremont, every club as a case where they show off everything and anything about the club, a type of showcase, if you will. We attempted to take pictures of officers before, but, being a club mainly composed of females, we decided that it would be best to re-take the pictures, since most of the officers were not satisfied with how they appeared (me included). So, what do you get with a bunch of women during picture? Stress zits, a bunch of take-it-again's, and whole bunch of complaining. Now, it may appear that I'm dreading picture day or whatnot, but what I'm really stating is that, in WILD, we focus on professionalism so much that our feministic perfectionism characteristic comes out. We strive to always look extravagant but professional. It is a blessing and a curse in the world of women. *sigh* But today should be fun.

Love always,
